We’re a friendly choir that has been making music in south Suffolk since 1994. There are just over 40 of us, split between soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices – but we’re always looking out for new talent and we don’t require an audition. We have a varied repertoire: formal choral productions, light opera, folk songs, modern music and carols.
And it is folk songs which engage us right now. Our concert on 25th April is called “A Red, Red Rose” and is a celebration of music from around the British Isles. There will be a music workshop on the afternoon of the day of the concert where people not doing the full rehearsal programme can come along and work up some songs to perform in the early evening.
Our musical director is Emma Bishton.
