Would you like to make great music with one of the friendliest choral societies in Suffolk and Essex? Singing in a group is enjoyable and will fill you with feelings of well-being. We pride ourselves on our high-quality concerts but also on our informal style: we don’t insist on an audition so even if you haven’t sung in a choir since your schooldays, you’ll get a warm welcome.
During term time our rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings in Nayland School: 7.50pm for an 8.00pm start, until 10.00pm. Subscriptions cover the costs of rehearsals and running the concert, and include the loan of music scores, and are currently £45 per term (roughly 10 rehearsals). There are currently around 40 of us, split between soprano, alto, tenor and bass voices – but we’re always looking out for new talent and we don’t require an audition. Although you will need some musical knowledge (you will need to follow a score), you won’t be required to sing on sight – enthusiasm is the most important thing. We meet on Thursday evenings 8 – 10 pm in Nayland School Hall. Email naylandchoir@gmail.com to find out more.
It’s frequently challenging but always a lot of fun. Why not give us a try?
